It is the dog. It is actually the dog.

I sent a slightly blurry phone photo of Ilse on the sofa and somehow the tesserae got the white blaze on her chest exactly right. It sits above the stairs and every visitor stops on the third step.

Every review here is a verified purchase through Tedooo, which checks out every order we take. Buyers rate the craftsmanship, how true the panel is to the photo they sent, whether we kept them posted and whether the crate arrived when promised; we print the low scores with the high ones, and we answer the ones that need answering.

Real glass and clay, with weight to it. My mother cried, which was the point. They asked two questions about the photograph before starting and both were the right ones.
The colours are richer than the photographs. The crate took a week longer than the estimate, but Tesera messaged me twice with updates, which I appreciated.

Hung it in the hall opposite the door, on the assumption it would look flat in there. It does not. Every face of every tessera sits at its own angle, and around five in the afternoon the whole panel moves.
I have bought a lot of things that turned out to be printed board. This is mosaic; it has weight, and you can feel the grout between the pieces. The 30 cm is the right size for the wall by the stairs; the 50 would have taken it over.
No complaints about the mosaic at all. The crate took twelve days to reach Utrecht against an estimate of seven, and I would rather the estimate had just said twelve.
